Some Reasoning Behind the Draft Analysis
I want to explain myself mainly to those who either don't know a lot about fantasy football, or who don't follow closely enough to be a geek like me. I noticed a lot in writing my draft review about draft habits and draft orders and so on. There is still one thing that stings out at me as I sit here looking at the draft board again...the three DEFs picked before Round 8.
In the past two years in fantasy football (ff) two DEFs have dominated and the other teams in the league have hovered at around 155 points, while the other two danced at 200. In 2006, it was Chicago and Carolina, in 2007 Chicago and Baltimore. That means that 30 other teams were at right around 155, according to Yahoo's shit. It's just that there was opportunities for all three teams to improve on their weakness areas instead of drafting a DEF. It sort of reminds me a bit of fantasy baseball, you want to win a stat category a week and instead of going for a player who can hit, steal and score runs, you go mainly for a guy who can hit, but not steal and doesn't score runs, it's only one piece of the puzzle. The exception to this rule though comes in Justin's team. He drafted back to back starting RBs, a top QB, and two starting WR, he's Chicago DEF is an okay pick mainly because like I said their Chicago.
Now for Pisula and A Ward, they both could've addressed other concerns with their picks. John could've addressed his RB situation which was a direct result of drafting TJ so high, and being sold on Fred Taylor being hurt. The following running backs were drafted after the Baltimore DEF in the 6th round: Lynch, Priest Holmes, Clinton Portis, Cedric Benson (by John), the Edge, Ronnie Brown (by John), Marion Barber the Third, Ahmmad Green, Kevin Jones, Mike Bell, I'll just end it there. But you can see that there were plenty of options to cover a more pressing need, where I can go to the waiver wire, add any DEF and get about 155 points like that. Also there were WR options on the board to supplement Burress that were missed because of Heap and Baltimore's DEF going where they did.
Older Ward had a semi similar problem, his problem came in the form of Reggie Bush, who while good isn't a starter and Thomas Jones who while good isn't all that healthy. And McNabb who is still a question mark. Instead of drafting a DEF in the 7th round another option may have opened up for him.
Now granted I could be wrong and this could all blow up in my face but my feeling is that DEFs are late, if needed at all.

Another thing that bothers me is how high TEs are taken in the draft. The only TE that should be taken early anymore is Antonio Gates. What happens is normally someone picks him and there is a frenzy because people fear not getting a TE, when there are perfectly good options out there later. I mean I picked Chris Cooley in the 8th round. That is a little ridiculous when TE such as Dallas Clark, Gonzo, Todd Heap, Jermey Shockey and Vernon Davis all went before him. Again maybe it's part of your startagey I just hate seeing draft picks "wasted" on TE in the 5,6,7 and hell even 8th rounds. (Yes I do hammer myself sometimes.)

Eh I was just bored so I thought I'd post my thoughts on this kind of stuff...ALSO
NO MOVES PEOPLE.

Justin could benefit hugely from the injury to Kenny Irons or whatever his name is.
